One Swim Inc. will offer a watersafety and lifeguarding course on at 9 a.m., on Saturdays, beginning May 24, at Brewer's Bay Beach.
The course will include American Red Cross waterfront lifeguard training. Those who successfully pass all written and skills tests will receive certificates for Waterfront Lifeguarding, CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer and First Aid.
This course will involve extreme physical activity. Participants will be swimming, running and lifting, outside in the sun, wind and rain. Individuals with any health concerns should check with their physician before participating.
Course dates: from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., on May 24 and 31; June 7, 14, 21 and 28.
Course costs: $150 payable after successful completion of prerequisite test and application on May 24.
