Special Education Holds Public Meeting on Results of Parent Satisfaction Survey

April 30, 2008 – The results of a parent satisfaction survey conducted by the University of the Virgin Islands' Eastern Caribbean Center on behalf of the State Office of Special Education have been completed, according to a press release from State Director of Special Education Carrie S. Johns.
"The recent survey," said Johns, "was undertaken to accurately measure one indicator of the State Performance Plan (SPP) and Annual Performance Report (APR), which requires data on the Percent of parents with a child receiving special education services who report that schools facilitate parent involvement as a means of improving services and results for children with disabilities."
She also said that the official results would be presented to the public at a press conference scheduled for 10 a.m. to noon, Thursday, May 22, at UVI in the Administration and Conference Building, Room 142-1B.
For more information or to interview Mrs. Johns, contact Juel M. Anderson, public relations director, at 774-0100, ext. 8136, or via e-mail at jmanderson@sttj.k12.vi.
