March of Dimes for Babies Walk-A-Thon Planned

March 24, 2008 – The 7th Virgin Islands Future Business Leaders of America's Annual March of Dimes March for Babies Walk-A-Thon will begin at 6 a.m., on Saturday, March 29, and travel from the Sun Shine Mall (Old Sunshine Supermarket) to the Vincent Mason Resort (Frederiksted Pool). The registration fee is $15, and drinks and snacks will be served at the end of the walk. The proceeds will be distributed among three beneficiaries: March of Dimes, Dorothy S. Walcott Scholarship Fund (FBLA) and the Virgin Islands Cardiac Center, according to a press release from the Virgin Islands Future Business Leaders of America.
Individuals as well as organizations are invited to participate in this year's March for Babies. Prizes will be awarded for the largest corporate/group participation, largest visiting group participation, largest corporate/group contribution, largest individual contribution and the first to cross the finish line. Six community service hours will be awarded to students who register and complete the walk. Complimentary transportation will be provided back to Sunshine Mall after the walk.
