What's Up Next on the Doug Lewis Show

Nov. 6, 2007 – Tune into the Doug Lewis Show on WVGN 107.3 FM from 2 to 4 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 11. This Sunday we will feature music by Kenny "Babyface" Edmonds, Jennifer Brantley, Bobby Darin, Laura Nyro, Diunna Greenleaf, George Benson and more.
The Modern Music Feature CD is "Playlist" from Kenny "Babyface" Edmonds. Edmonds has crafted a very nice acoustic CD, which features his interpretations of the work of some of his favorite songwriters, including songs written by Bob Dylan, James Taylor, Jim Croce, Dan Fogelberg and more. Very nicely done.
The Indie Spotlight CD is "Breakdown" by alternative country artist Jennifer Brantley, a rising star on the Americana scene. We give away a copy of her CD, as well.
We play new music from Kris Drever, David Massengill, Bettye Lavette and more.
We also play music from Willie Nelson, Bobby Darin, the Blasters, Laura Nyro, and more.
We celebrate the birthdays of jazz artist and songwriter Mose Allison, Dave Alvin, songwriter Hoagy Carmichael, Chris Dreja of the Yardbirds, Lavern Baker, and Jessie Colin Young of the Youngbloods.
We include music from blues and gospel artist Diunna Greenleaf, who will be performing at the St. John Christmas festival on Dec. 2. We also include music from George Benson, who will be appearing at the Reichhold Center on Nov. 29.

We give away a copy of the new release from Linda Thompson and a new blues release from Omar Kent Dykes and Jimmie Vuaghn that pays tribute to the music of Jimmy Reed. Perhaps, you caught their smoking live appearance on Austin City Limits a couple of weeks ago?Doug Lewis Show is underwritten by Hook, Line and Sinker; Molly Molones; and St. Thomas Radiology Associates.
