22-Year-Old Man Latest Victim of Gun Violence

June 18, 2007 — An investigation has been launched into the death of 22-year-old Daryl Paris, gunned down over the weekend at the Thomasville Apartments housing community on St. Thomas.
Police were dispatched to the housing community around 10:55 p.m. Saturday after receiving reports of a shooting in the area, according to a recent news release. Once on the scene, officers found Paris lying on the ground near the entrance to the community.
Paris was walking from his home to a friend's house when two male suspects shot him, according to Police reports. Witnesses to the incident reported hearing more than 10 shots fired.
Paris, who sustained multiple gunshot wounds to the body, was taken to the Schneider Regional Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at 12:05 a.m. Sunday.
Police are asking anyone with information on this or any other incident to call the department's confidential hotline at 715-5544, or call 911.
