Jonathan E.A. Buckney Seeks to Be a Convention Delegate

June 4, 2007 – We Virgin Islanders must not forget the struggles and atrocities of our past. We have been under the rules of six different nations; we now have the opportunity to form our own constitution for out territory. My service to the community gives me a broad view and rationale insight into the needs of the Virgin Islands for now and the future. PLEASE VOTE No. 34 ON YOUR BALLOT

1.Name and office I am seeking: Jonathan E.A. Buckney Delegate STX
2. Age: 27 Years Old
3. District: St. Croix
4. College: Inter – American Universidad de Puerto Rico Mayaguez Campus, UNIVERSITY of the Virgin Islands St. Thomas and St. Croix Campus concentration: International Business Major.
5. High School (location; date of diploma): St. Croix Educational Complex class of 2000.
6. Occupation: Chief Researcher, Committee on Labor 27 Legislature of the Virgin Islands.
7.Community leadership positions:St. Croix Civil Air Patrol Cadet Commander 95-00, Vitema Hurricane Preparedness Volunteer for Hurricanes Marilyn, Georges and Luis, St. Croix Unity Coalition Volunteer 2001-2006 and Board President 2003 -2004, Young Democratic Party interim Vice-President, Volunteer Boys and Girls Club of Virgin Islands, Peer Health Educator UVI 2002.

Creating a Chief Financial Officer or Comptroller
Establishing a Comptroller office will insure our government gets, and procures the best services for our residents.
Landowners rights
Virgin Islands owner rights must be protected in our constitution this will be an incentive and will restore pride in our territory.
Municipal governments
Municipal Government is the answer to keep our elected officials responsible to the residents of the district they serve.
