Date of death: Jan. 19
Blair E. Shannon, 46, a comedian working for the cruise line industry was fatally wounded in a hotel room at the Carib Beach Hotel. Police received a call about the incident at 11 p.m. Shannon was in his room with a female companion when he was attacked and fatally shot. Police suspected attempted robbery was the motive. The woman was not injured.

Ahiem Kareem Huyghue, a 13-year-old, ninth-grade student at Charlotte Amalie High School, was shot in the head inside his mothers’s Hospital Ground home. The shooting took place at 2:30 a.m.
Authorities had no suspects or motive in the murder, and the weapon used in the shooting had not been recovered.

Winston "Bamboo" Samuel, a resident of Grove Place 40-B, was shot several times at close range in the chin, jaw, mouth and side of the head. Samuel?s death was the first killing. The police had no motive in the crime and had not determined if an abandoned vehicle found after the shooting with a gun inside was connected to the killing.

Kelmon David, 26,was found shot to death outside Building 21 at Oswald Harris Court around sunset.A motive for the killing has not been established at the time of the shooting, but there were unconfirmed reports it could have stemmed from a confrontation between David and another person over the victim’s vehicle.

Sherry Ann Phillips, 28, was pronounced dead at the Juan Luis Hospital at 6:52 p.m. after suffering a singe gunshot wound to the head. Sources at the time said Phillips was killed in a confrontation between she and her boyfriend.

Germaine Maynard,28, a resident of Harbor View housing community was found dead of apparent gunshot wound or wounds at Harbor View. Police had no suspects or motive at the time of the shooting.

Jaheem Williams, 32, of St. Thomas, was fatally shot while on St. Croix. Police responding to an emergency call in the early hours of Thursday, Feb. 23, encountered a man in the vicinity of reported gunshots saying he had done something "terrible," according to a police statement. Lucien Francis, 67, of St. Croix, told police his shotgun was discharged during an encounter with the victim in the doorway of his home. Francis was charged Feb. 23 with first-degree murder and taken to Golden Grove.

Dauodi Samuel Jr., 25, was shot and killed during a concert at the Country Club, the former New Drive Inn Theater, around 4 a.m. Sunday.
Police spokesman Sgt. Thomas Hannah said police have not established a motive or identified a suspect, but it "appears to be retaliatory in nature."
The investigation is ongoing.

Milton Gonzalez, 25, died of a gunshot injury to the chest. Police arrested Steven Baxter, 21, in conneciton with the fatal shooting reportedly over a woman that Baxter dated but was married to Gonzalez.

Brendan Maloney, 34, was fatally shot around 2 p.m. on the grounds of Lovelund housing development near St. Thomas Dairies, allegedly because of a dispute between Maloney and his boss, Ivan Mills. Mills allegedly shot Maloney after Maloney attacked him with a machete.

Timothy Heidman Jr., 23, was stabbed to death in a fight at Golden Grove Correctional Facility, where he was an inmate. Police are investigating the incident in which several other inmates were also injured.

Sherett James, 22, of St. Thomas died from gunshot wounds to the head and body. Five shots were fired shortly after 8 a.m. at Bunker Hill Hotel on Garden Street in Charlotte Amalie. James was dead when police arrived. They later arrested eight-year veteran Police officer Joel Dowdye, 38 and charged him with first degree murder. Daren Stevens, 32, a St. Croix TV personality also known as Bogle was also shot in the incident and remained in critical condition.

An investigation is ongoing into the death of Ira Cruse Jr., 40, who was killed around 1 p.m. outside his home in Estate Mon Bijou.
Police found Cruse’s body outside his backdoor with a gunshot wound to the left side of his neck.

Ray Edwards, 44, of Stony Ground, Frederiksted was found dead at a beach in Frederiksted. Police did not immediately provide any further information, except to say he died of his wounds – not being specific as to the nature of the wounds.

Trevor Louis, a resident of Estate Nadir and native of St. Lucia, was shot multiple times when two gunmen entered the Banana Split Bar and Grill on Brookman Road and opened fire. He was pronounced dead at 4:35 a.m. at the Schneider Regional Medical Center. Louis was one of three men killed by the gunmen.

Edgar Eustace was shot multiple times when two gunman entered the Banana Split Bar and Grill on Brookman Road and opened fire. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Shawna Richards, police spokeswoman, gave no age or country of origin for Eustace, who was one of three men killed by the gunmen.

Nevis native Lennox B. Weeks, 36, died June 22 at Schneider Regional Medical Center, where he had been taken after a shooting rampage that left two other men dead and two male St. Lucia natives wounded.

Seventeen-year-old Kenrique Caines was the subject of a sting operation and was shot and killed in the Hospital Ground area by a police officer participating in the sting.

Seventeen-year-old David Berrios’ body was was found in a grassy area near Building 21 in the Ralph De Chabert housing community on St. Croix. According to police the teenager died from gunshot wounds to the body. As of June 25th, 2006, there is no further information.

The body of Kibwe Reid, 23, was found legs and hands bound, on the rocks near the beach at Point Pleasant Resort in Smith Bay.

Shakir Alexander, 28, was found lying in a pool of blood in his second-floor office at the Cassi Hill East business center in Smith Bay by an employee. He had been shot in the head area, according to one police source.

Germaine Heyliger, 34, of Estate Bovoni died at Schneider Regional Medical Center at 4:52 p.m. Sunday of multiple gunshot wounds, after police responded to reports of a shooting at the Paul M. Pearson Gardens at 7:58 a.m. Sunday.

Jhabob Christopher, 21, died after he was shot to death in front of his Estate Thomas, St. Thomas house. According to the Police, Christopher and his mother were leaving their house when a black male wearing dark clothing and a black cap approached the victim and began shooting. The suspect allegedly fired four or five shots before fleeting on foot.

Police responded at 8 p.m. to reports from residents in Estate Barren Spot who said they heard between five or six shots fired in the area. They found 38-year-old Edgar Sheridan fatally wounded at the scene. Sheridan, a resident of Estate Barren Spot, was transferred to the Juan F. Luis Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 9:45 p.m. Friday Police were investigating claims that a vehicle was seen leaving the scene at a rate of high speed.

Gregory Ford, 40, died after being shot near his home in Gallows Bay. Ford had left his house and was walking toward his vehicle when he was shot by an unknown assailant, according to police who said a gray four-door car was seen leaving the area after the shooting.

Rumaine Mayers, a 17-year-old-resident of Princesse Gade died Thrusday at 2:30 a.m. after being shot Wednesday night near Pile Gade. He was taken to Schneider Regional Medical Center where he underwent emergency surgery after the incident. He died several hours later.

Jean Claude Charles, 35, a safari tax driver, was shot multiple times during a robbery attempt near Splash and Dash car wash in Four Winds Plaza while awaiting a tow truck. Witnesses said robbery appeared to be the motive for the shooting.

Police found the dead body of 27-year-old Brenda Osario of Estate Whim along the should of Oxford Road in the rain forest. She had been shot several times. They later found the body of Malik Rohlsen, 32, slumped over in his vehicle, the victim of an apparent self-inflicted single gunshot wound. Police deemed the deaths a homicide-suicide domestic violence situation.

Ruperto Berrios, 20, of Estate Whim was killed by a masked gunman as he prepared to leave the Walter I.M. Hodge Pavilion housing community about 7:20 p.m.. Police would not speculate as to whether the murder was related to the June 24 killing of Berrios’ younger brother, 17-year-old David Berrios, in the Ralph deChabert housing community.

Earl Russell Dennis, 26, of Frederiksted succumbed to gunshot wounds he received in the early morning hours of Sept. 15 near a Christiansted nightclub. Witnesses said the shots may have come from the second floor of the club.

Kendahl Brathwaite, 20, of Estate Thomas was shot shortly before midnight Monday, Sept. 25 at Benji Bay Car on lower Kronprindsens Gade. Police found Braithwaite alive but suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was rushed to Schneider Hospital where he underwent emergency surgery but died at 4:13 a.m. Tuesday.

Rory Bruce Turner, 50, was shot several times. Police were investigating whether Turner, whose body was found face down around 5 p.m. in an alley near Red Ball Grocery, was a victim of a robbery gone awry.

Jermaine Phillip, who police said was in his 20s, was found dead near the Ludvig Harrigan Court housing community around 7:30 p.m. Police had not established a motive.

Julius Cupid, 20, died at 7:20 p.m. at the Juan Luis Hospital where he was taken after being shot once in the lower face. Cupid was shot at approximately 6:20 p.m. in the vicinity of Building 15 at Aureo Diaz. housing community. Police were searching for 27-year-old Randy Burke, also known as Asha, in connection with the shooting.

Hector Velasquez, 28, of Estate Barren Spot was gunned down at about 12:37 a.m. while standing at a gas station in the Sunny Isle area. Velasquez was shot as he talked on his cell phone.

Cleve Hendrickson, 38, of Anna’s Retreat, died from multiple gunshot wounds after being shot at a basketball court in Anna’s Retreat. He was dead at the scene. The incident occurred at 3:55 p.m. Police have no motive or suspects.

Ivan Petric Sr, 75, was found dead in his La Valle home. He had been shot. Police arrested 32-year-old Ivan Petric Jr. on charges of unauthorized possession of a firearm in connection with the incident.

Dorian Blake, 20, was shot to death near the intersection at the stop light by the National Guard Armory in Estate Nazareth. Blake had a history of mental illness.

Abawalda Petersen, 22, was shot and killed while trying to elude marshals who were trying to apprehend him. According to police, Petersen shot at the marshals and was killed when they returned fire.
