Pistarckle Opens It's A Wonderful Life December 1

Nov. 30, 2005 – Thursday night, Dec. 1 is pay-as-you-can night for the opening performance of It's A Wonderful Life at Pistarckle Theater in Tillett Gardens on St. Thomas. Audience members are invited to donate to the theater and see the first performance of the holiday show.
The play continues every weekend through Dec. 18. Tickets are $18 in advance or $20 at the door. Special rates are $10 and group sales apply, but "pay-as-you-can" night is a wonderful opportunity to be one of the first to see the show and donate to the island's only community theater.
New York-based actor Randy Long leads a cast of 26 local actors, including several children and teenagers, in one of the largest undertakings in Pistarckle's recent history. Long is playing the role of George. He came to St. Thomas at the invitation of Pistarckle's Bethany Burgess-Smith, who is directing and Artistic Producing Director Nicola Emerich.
The play is based on the classic 1946 movie. About to kill himself on Christmas Eve, George discovers, with the help of a few angels in search of their wings, what life would have been like if he was never born.
The show dates and times: Dec. 1, 2, 3, 9, 10, 11, 16 and 17 at 8 p.m., and Dec. 3, 10, 11, 17 and 18 at 2 p.m.
Tickets call: 775-7877. Outlets: Marina Market, Draughting Shaft, East End Secretarial, Beans, Bytes & Websites, and Books & Beans on St. John.
