World's AIDS Day Activities

Dec. 1, marks World AIDS Day 2005. It is observed around the world, and in St. Thomas/St. John there are several activities that have been coordinated by Helping Others in a Positive Environment.
There will be an interdenominational church service at the Nazareth Lutheran Church on Thursday, Dec. 1, at 5:30 p.m., given by HOPE Inc. It will be followed at 6 p.m. by a candlelight vigil. At the church there will be HIV testing and counseling at 3 p.m. to 9 p.m.
There will also be A Moment of Silence in collaboration with WGOD, WSTA, AM1000, 105JAMZ, and KISS 101.3, at noon, followed by the playing of Stand Up for Love by Destiny's Child.
This year's theme is STOP AIDS, Keep the Promise.
