James B. 'Huck' Jordan Dead at 55

Oct. 7, 2005 – James B. "Huck" Jordan died Tuesday, after a long battle with cancer, in his home in Greencastle, N.C. He was 55.
Jordan was a long-time resident of St. Thomas.
He was born April 11, 1950, in San Diego, Calif. Jordan lived his early life in Mississippi.
He graduated from Monterey High School in 1969. He attended Monterey Peninsula College from 1969 to 1972, where he studied photography with Ansel Adams.
Jordan was a member of the American Culinary Federation and in the 20 years that he spent on St. Thomas he worked mostly in the food business. He was for eight years sales manger for Merchants Market. He also handled purchasing for the Sea Cliff and Renaissance Grand hotels.
. But food was not Jordan's only area of interest and expertise, he had also worked as a freelance photographer since 1970, photographing such music icons as Santana, the Grateful Dead and Janis Joplin.
Jordan enjoyed photography, cooking, Web site design and reading.
He is survived by his companion of nine years, Gail E. Walsh of Greencastle; two stepdaughters, Casey M. Brown of Baltimore and Theresa A. Brown of Union Mills, Md.; and two step granddaughters.
Services will be held from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday in the family home, 12837 Williamsport Pike, Greencastle.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Gail E. Walsh, 12837 Williamsport Pike, Greencastle, Pa. 17225.
