Sheila L. Jasper Joins Guardian Insurance

Nov. 3, 2004 — Veteran insurance professional Sheila L. Jasper has joined Guardian Insurance as vice president of underwriting. Jasper, who has 23 years experience in the field – 21 of them on St. Thomas, will have oversight of all underwriting and marketing operations for Guardian Insurance, its subsidiaries and affiliates.
"We are pleased that someone of Sheila's caliber and experience has joined our team," Raymond L. Fournier, Guardian president, said.
"We look forward to continuing Guardian's development as the V.I.'s oldest and largest insurance company," with Jasper's help, Fournier said.
"Our success throughout the years is well documented and the fact that after 20 years we continue to service this community is evidence of our commitment, track record and our judgment. We are confident that Sheila will be an asset, not only to us but also to our clients."
Jasper said she looked forward to using her experience in the marketplace to Guardian's advantage. "I worked as an agent for Guardian from their beginnings in the market place." Jasper said Wednesday, adding, "It's a pleasure to be on board and to contribute to the continued growth of the company."
Jasper initiated her insurance career at Guy Carpenter & Company in New York City.
After moving to the Virgin Islands, Jasper completed her business degree at the University of the Virgin Islands. She also successfully completed the Travelers Property and Casualty Insurance Company training program.
Jasper is duly licensed in the Virgin Islands as an insurance agent for commercial and personal lines as well as life and health insurance. She is an active member of the Society of Certified Insurance Service Representatives and a member of the board of directors of the V. I. Insurance Association.
In her spare time Jasper is an active member of her church, St. Thomas Assembly of God, where she teaches Sunday school.
