Third 4-H Cross-Country Series Race Results

Oct. 29, 2004 – In the third 4-H Cross-Country Series event, held Oct. 27 at the University of the Virgin Islands St. Croix Campus, four runners who have been top finishers this year are now primed for the championships to be held on Veterans Day, Nov. 11, at the UVI Cross-Country Course.
Juan Robles had no difficulty crossing the finish line first in the varsity 5k race over a contingent of St. Croix Central High School boys with a time of 18 minutes and 3 seconds. Hansel Estepan of the St. Croix Educational Complex High School ran away from the field of JV runners as he completed the two-mile course in 12 minutes and 5 seconds, according to press materials.
Cissel Holloway of Country Day School also continued her winning ways in the girls JV with a time of 13:41. A contingent of St. Croix Central High School and V.I. Heatwave Track Club runners competed in the race in preparation for the upcoming championships which will have top school runners from St. Thomas competing.
