Oct. 20, 2004 – West Airport Road from the traffic light at Melvin Evans Highway to the entrance of Henry Rohlsen Airport will be closed between 6 a.m. and 7:30 a.m., Oct. 23.
A press release from the police department said this closure will permit the National Guard to conduct its annual army physical fitness test.
Deputy Chief Herminio Velazquez is asking all motorists to utilize East Airport Road
to gain access to the airport and other businesses located there. The residents of Enfield Green will be detoured to Melvin Evans Highway for access to their homes.
On the behalf of the V.I. National Guard and the police department, Velazquez expressed apologies for the temporary interruption of travel plans during this testing period.
