Route 33, Crown Mountain, Closed on Tuesday

June 5, 2004 – Due to the continuation of work on the retaining wall on Route 33, Crown Mountain Road, the road will be closed on Tuesday between the hours of 9 a.m. and 4 p.m.
A press release from Wayne D. Callwood, Department of Public Works commissioner, stated, "The road, located between Route 405, Scott Free Road, and Route 301, West End Road, at Estate Santa Maria, will be closed so that concrete pouring operations can start.
The release advises motorists traveling to the north side to travel through Route 40, Solherg Road, on the west side of Charlotte Amalie or Route 35, Mafolie Road, if traveling from the east side.
Flaggers will be working and detour signs posted to assist motorists. Drivers are asked to proceed through these areas with caution. Access will be allowed to property owners and emergency vehicles during this road closure.
