REICHHOLD SEASON TICKETS GO ON SALE JAN. 12

The 25th Anniversary celebration of the University of the Virgin Islands Reichhold Center for the Arts continues with the new season line-up. The Reichhold Center promises another exciting season with performances to please everyone. The season includes a legendary R&B/soul artist, a phenomenal modern dance company, Caribbean comedy featuring one of the region's best, a Latin festival that's sure to make you get up and dance, and an exposition of the Virgin Islands' finest talent. Long-time Reichhold Center supporters and prospective audience members will be delighted with the newly renovated seating area.
The season's first show begins on February 28 with a performance by soul/R&B artist Jeffrey Osborne. This year the Reichhold Center takes part of the show on the road, hosting the Caribbean comedy on St. Croix.
All performances begin at 8 p.m. unless otherwise noted. Season tickets will be available on Monday, January 12. For ticket information call the Reichhold Center Box office at 693-1559.

February 28 Jeffrey Osborne
With the release of his "Music is Life" CD in 2003, Osborne has shown his staying power, having recorded numerous albums over the past 30 years. In 2003 he also released the holiday CD "Something Warm for Christmas." Osborne is known for classics like "Back in Love Again" and "On the Wings of Love." He began his recording career with the soul group LTD (Love, Tenderness and Devotion). A few years later he was making his own chart-topping hits. This singer and songwriter is one of soul/R&B's most distinguished voices. Osborne continues to please audiences around the country with sweet voice and amazing ability to switch effortlessly between up-tempo tunes and ballads.
March 27 Philadanco
Philadanco is the city of Philadelphia's most renowned modern dance troupe, known for its high-powered, non-stop repertoire of ballet, modern and ethnic dance styles. A troupe of about 20 will dance their way into the hearts of the audience. Hailed as sensational, part of the dance company's ongoing mission is to present the highest quality of professional dance performances. Philadanco's outstanding choreography draws diverse audiences throughout North America and the Caribbean, and is known to leave audiences wanting more.
May 8-9 STARfest 10
Now in its 10th year, STARfest has retained its reputation of being the Virgin Islands' best show. Song, dance and poetry are highlighted at this must-see. The variety-styled show highlights talented locals old and young, novice and seasoned. It is a superb exposition of the best talent the Virgin Islands has to offer. Expect a resounding performance as STARfest celebrates its 10th anniversary.
June 19 Latin Festival
Salsa's best and hottest artists spice up the Reichhold with a musical recipe that blends Afro-Caribbean & Cuban sounds with a dash of American Jazz. This performance is bound to have the crowd dancing and swaying throughout the isles. The performance will present various Latin styles in celebration of the great Hispanic Heritage. Look for this year's artist!
August 13-14 Caribbean Comedy
The Caribbean Comedy will feature popular Jamaican comedian Oliver Samuels, who needs no introduction in the Virgin Islands. Audiences here and throughout the Caribbean know that Samuel delivers a belly-holding, eye-watering comedic performance. He will perform his newly released Christopher Cum-Buck-Us, which is bound to make everyone laugh, with topics such as electioneering, Highway 2000, the Iraq war and many others. Samuels is much more than a comedian. He is also an actor, writer, director and producer for theatrical and television productions. Samuels will perform on August 13th at the Island Center on St. Croix and on August 14th at the Reichhold Center on St. Thomas.
