SENATOR MALONE Mourns the passing of Mrs. Edith Quetel Bryan
(Charlotte Amalie, U.S. Virgin Islands, December 16, 2003) Today, Senator Shawn-Michael Malone join the family and residents of the Lucinda Millin Home for the Elderly, along with the entire community, in mourning the passing of longtime political and community activist, children's advocate and friend to many, Mrs. Edith Quetel Bryan.
Mrs. Quetel-Bryan will be remembered for her is friendly disposition, jovial attitude and willingness to do as much as she could for the seniors and youth of the Territory. The Virgin Islands community has lost another standard-bearer and wealth of historical knowledge in Mrs. Quetel-Bryan. "My memories of Mrs. Bryan are indeed precious. I often wondered how this elderly lady managed to do so much with her time. Every time she visited my office, she either came from a function or needed some assistance in preparing for one. Anyone who knew Mrs. Bryan knows she was not the sort that you could turn down. She knew how to make you smile, for hers was authentic, while garnering your support for the very worthwhile initiatives that she coordinated on behalf of the elderly," said Senator Malone.
"My prayers go out to the residents and staff at the Lucinda Millin Home, especially to Mrs. Quetel-Bryan's family during this difficult time," Senator Malone said. "May God comfort and bless the Quetel and Bryan families during this difficult period," Senator Malone stated.
"My family and staff join me in extending our condolences to the family and all who mourn her passing, especially to the many people whom she graced with her presence and have assisted over the years," Senator Malone said. "It is my sincere hope and prayer that her life will be remembered by many as one that we can reflect upon and cherish from time to time," Senator Malone concluded.
