VETERANS DRIVE DETOURS SET FOR NEXT 3 DAYS

Dec. 5, 2002 – Motorists on Veterans Drive will face construction-related detours between the Legislature Building and the Hospital Gade intersection from Friday morning until Monday morning, according to a Public Works Department release.
Traffic heading east will be detoured through the Fort Christian parking lot and will be able to turn left or right onto Hospital Gade. Westbound traffic will be directed along Veterans Drive through the construction site.
Robert L. Moorehead, acting Public Works commissioner, said he expects the construction work will complete the sewer line replacement in the area. "This project has been an extensive one, but the work has finally been completed, and we do not expect any further complications at this time," he said.
He said motorists should reduce speed and drive with caution through the area.
