MAIN STREET CLOSED TUES. FOR CRUISE INFLUX

April 2, 2001 — Main Street in downtown Charlotte Amalie will be closed Tuesday, according to a statement from Deputy Police Chief Theodore Carty.
Eight cruise ships are expected, and the closure of Main Street (Dronningens Gade) is intended to help accommodate the many visitors downtown, Carty said.
The street will be closed from Cardow Jewelers to Guttets Gade by the Enid Baa Library. Parking will be prohibited, and the only crossroads open will be at Raadets Gade and at Storetvaer Gade, the statement said.
The deputy chief apologized for any inconvenience.
