MEETING, MARCH AGAINST VIOLENCE SET FOR FRIDAY

A press conference will be held at the Windward Passage Holiday Inn at 1 p.m. Friday to denounce violence against women and children in the territory, and a march will follow.
The V.I. Domestic Violence Coordination Council, the Family Resource Center, the Safety Zone, Women for Positive Change, and the Women's Coalition will hold the press conference and have called on all concerned residents to march at 2:45 p.m. against the continued physical and judicial assault on children and women in the territory.
Marchers will assemble at the Attorney General's Office (across from Island Block) and march from the Attorney General's Office up the waterfront to Government House and end at the Alexander Farrelly Justice Complex.
The organizations have declared a State of Emergency for Victims of Sexual Assault and Domestic Violence in the Territory and encourage people to make signs and join them as they send the message that injustice and abuse of women and children will no longer be tolerated.
