RAFFLES, MIM'S BISTRO OPEN AGAIN AFTER CLEANUP

Two East End restaurants shut down recently for health code violations reopened this week after being inspected again by the Health Department's Division of Environmental Health.
Jerry deFreitas, co-owner of Mim's Seaside Bistro at the Watergate Villas said the restaurant was re-inspected Thursday night. "They went through here with a fine-tooth comb," he said, "and we're open for business." Mim's had been closed by Health early last week.
At Raffles restaurant at Compass Point, owner Sandy Engelsberger said the restaurant, which was closed Friday, took a few days for "a general cleanup" before being re-inspected late Tuesday.
"Our staff all pulled together, put on some loud music, grabbed paint brushes and went to work," she said. She said Raffles passed the inspection with flying colors and reopened Wednesday.
Raffles can be reached at 775-6004; the phone number for Mim's is 775-2081.
