MAN SHOT DURING HOLDUP OF BOVONI GAS STATION

An employee of the Bovoni Texaco service station was shot and wounded Thursday night during an armed robbery.
Police spokeswoman Sgt. Annette Raimer said 36-year-old Jefflon Marsham was wounded during the holdup of the gas station just off the Bovoni road at around 8:15 p.m.
Marsham was transported to the Roy L. Schneider Hospital for treatment of his wounds. His condition was not immediately known.
Raimer said an undisclosed amount of money was taken from the attendants during the first-degree armed robbery. A manhunt continued late into the night in the area around the Bovoni housing community area.
Police officials are asking anyone with information to call 774-4050 or the emergency number 911.
