MOCK ELECTION HELD ONLINE UNTIL MIDNIGHT

Craig W. Barshinger and Glen J. Smith have won the online election to the 24th Virgin Islands Legislature. That is, until midnight tonight.
The third mock election held by local Internet provider VIAccess, leading up to the real thing next month, takes place Tuesday, and anyone who goes online can vote by going to www.viaccess.net and clicking on the big "V.I. Senate Election 2000" banner.
VIAccess software monitors incoming votes, allowing just one vote from any one computer. Those linking to the site will also find discussions on the issues and links to other election-related sites.
Barshinger and Smith topped the last polling on Sept. 26, but a few votes one way or the other could make the difference.
