A funeral service for Ronald "Slimo" Blyden Sr. will be held starting at 10 a.m. Saturday at Frederick Evangelic Lutheran Church. Mr. Blyden died Saturday, Oct. 7.
The viewing will begin at 8:30 a.m. also at Frederick Evangelic Lutheran Church preceding the funeral service.
Mr. Blyden is survived by his wife, Dr. Eleanor Blyden, known as Ellie. He is also survived by his son, Ronald A. Blyden Jr.; daughter LaVerne "La Vie" Blyden; brother Franklyn Blyden Sr.; four sisters, Violet Victoria, Myrna Gerard, Ione Monsanto and Celcelie Blyden, and his grandson, LaMont Ronald Joseph.
Mr. Monsanto is also survived by his mother-in-law, Esterlene Davis Penn Parilla, and an aunt, Lyra Lawrence; three brothers-in-law and eight sisters-in-law.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Frederick Evangelic Lutheran Church Organ Fund, P.O. Box 58, St. Thomas, V.I. 00804.
