TAXIS DRIVING TOURISTS AWAY

I recently made another trip to the " island" and the taxi drivers are still up to the same old trick of "ripping-off" (charging 150 percent of published rates) the tourist. Sure you have lots of other problems, but the taxi drivers habits and habits of overcharging is what is driving tourism somewhere else.
So it is slow this time of the year…..just charge the fares you have to and make up for it! The hotels and taxis increase their charges to make up for the loss of tourist of years past…..who caused it??…..the hole just gets deeper. Within 20 minutes after getting off of the plane, the FIRST ambassador of your islands (taxi drivers), has ripped off the tourist and will again the next day too. Ever wonder why the tourist who fly into the island are declining????
Ignore your problems (which you have been doing) and the tourist from the states will ignore you! If the taxi drivers and the taxi commission think they can continue to get away with this….they will, but with fewer and fewer tourists…and you won't see the same tourist twice in a taxi!!!
