ESPN's World Billfish Series will showcase St. Thomas' 28th annual USVI Open-Atlantic Blue Marlin Tournament, held Aug. 11-16, and St. Croix's seventh annual Golden Hook Challenge, held Aug. 12-13, during the hit-series "Inside Big Game Fishing" and "Big Game Fishing the World."
"We were so excited about the fishing quality of the USVI. We obtained so much great footage from its waters that we simply felt compelled to produce four shows about the territory's great fishing to share with the angling world," World Billfish Series President R. Wayne Bisbee said.
The "Inside Big Game Fishing" two-part series will first air on ESPN Saturday, Sept. 23
(part I), and Saturday, Sept. 30, 2000 (part II), at 8:30 a.m. EST, during the sports network's acclaimed Saturday morning "Outdoor Block." The "Big Game Fishing the World" coverage will air on ESPN2, Oct. 21 and Nov. 11 at 7 a.m. EST.
