POLICE INVESTIGATING DEATH OF WINTBERG WOMAN

Federal and local police are investigating the cause of death of a woman whose body was found at her residence in Estate Wintberg shortly after 7:30 a.m. Thursday.
Major Crime detectives from the Police Department and agents of the Safe Streets Task Force were called to 1-68 Wintberg, next door to the popular Wintberg Gardens, after the unidentified woman was found dead by a friend.
Investigators have reportedly widened the scope of the investigation to determine whether drug use played a role in the woman's death. Earlier reports that the woman was beaten and sexually assaulted were unfounded, sources reported Thursday morning.
Neither local nor federal authorities have commented publicly on the death of the woman or on whether foul play is suspected.
The woman, still unidentified by police, lived in one of several rental units at the Wintberg Estate address.
