MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND WORLDJAM® CANCELED

WorldJam, produced by Cause Effective Arts Program (CEAP) originally set for Memorial Day Weekend at Magens Bay, has been canceled.
CEAP President Steve Bornn said, unfortunately, with the event two months away, the required levels of sponsorship and logistical support has not been secured.
"There is a certain amount of financial commitment required to produce an event of WorldJam’s caliber of talent, entertainment value and overall quality amenitie," he said.
WorldJam was expected to feature Celia Cruz, José Alberto, Kassav’ and the Neville Brothers.
Cause Effective Arts Program is a non-profit organization with an objective to broaden awareness and appreciation of international arts while helping charitable causes.
"We particularly acknowledge with deep appreciation those companies who supported our program: CellularOne, Innovative Communications Corp. (ICC), Martin Public Relations, Tropical Shipping, Coors, Bluebeard’s Castle, and Topa Insurance. CEAP will continue to assist other non-profit organizations, such as the Girl Scouts and Reef Rangers with event planning for cause marketing.
The organization’s groundbreaking events, BeachJam ‘99 at Magens Bay Coconut Grove featuring Tito Puente and the first of the territory-wide WorldJam Series with Original Danish Polcalypso Orchestra were smash hits.
