TOURISM SEEKS EVENT INFO FOR 2000 CALENDAR

Got a big event planned in the year 2000? If so, the Tourism Department wants to know about it.
Acting Commissioner Michael A. Bornn said the department is accepting information now for its 2000 Calendar of Events.
"In an effort to maximize on the advertising and promotional potenial for all territorial events, the department is encouraging all private-sector and government organizations, groups and persons to submit their information," Bornn said.
Major events will be publicized through the territory's public relations apparatus and on the Internet.
Information for the 2000 calendar should be submitted by Sept. 15 to Ana Bertrand, assistant coordinator, Tourism Department, Special Events Division, PO Box 6400, St. Thomas, VI 00804. It can also be delivered to the department's offices at Estate contant 78-1-2-3 (across from the Nisky Moravian Church) or faxed to 340-774-4390.
