Animal Welfare Center Will Have Adoption Open House

The St. Croix Animal Welfare Center (AWC) will host a special adoption open house from noon to 3:30 p.m., on Sunday, May 17. Dogs and cats, puppies and kittens are seeking forever homes via adoption. This open house is part of AWC's participation in the North Shore Animal League America's adopt-a-thon events. Hundreds of shelters in dozens of countries are participating in this annual promotion event.
Adoption fees are $65 and cover vaccines, de-wormings, and spayed or neutered surgeries. Also, prior to adoption, shelter staff and volunteers work to socialize animals, give them proper exercise, pet care and, of course, love and attention.
In addition to special hours, the center will raffle off baskets of pet goodies appropriate for either cats or dogs. Chances on the baskets may be purchased at the shelter facility at No. 32 Clifton Hill or the AWC flea market located at No. 151 Richmond.
To view animals available for adoption, visit the shelter facility in Clifton Hill. To learn more about the work of St. Croix AWC, volunteer or sponsor an animal, call 778-1650.
