Burnette Tutein-Williams Dies at 70

Burnette Tutein-Williams

Burnette “Randy-Bird” Tutein-Williams of Estate Cathrine’s Rest died on April 15. He was 70 years old.

He is survived by his companion: Jeniece O’Reilly; mother, Marilyn Tutein-Ramos; adopted mother, Marilyn Edna M. O’Reilly; stepfather, Saturnino Ramos Sr.; daughter, Jeniecia “Niecy” Tutein-Williams; son, Burnell “Boogie” Tutein-Williams; grandson, Kaiden J. Peterson; son-in-law, Kai Peterson; sisters: Elita “Gidget” Williams, Jacklyn “Jackie” Williams, Deborah “Debra” Williams, Lillian Velasquez and Ana Ramos-Magras; and brothers: Melvin “Funkyman” Williams, Juan “Gito” Rios and Johnny Ramos.

He is also survived by aunts: Cleone Williams-Llanos, Dianna Williams, Aurea Williams-Anderson, Girda Tutein-Roberts, Rebekah Tutein-Cornelius and Brynhilda Tutein-Caines; uncles: Arnold, Tyrone, Peter Williams, Vargrave, Andreas, Joel “Toots,” and Micah Tutein; close nieces: Jamila M-Sobratti, Shonde Walker, Shonneth Gittens and Tamara Williams; and nieces: Waynia Charles, Shauna, Renika, Rianna, Kiswana, Shalisa, N’qwanda Williams, Taisha, Rhonda, Tekia Joseph, Rasheda Gaskin, Tamika Gumbs-Rose.

Other survivors include more nieces: Natalie Phillip, Daphnie Cayetano, Magdalin Francis, Nikima Chiverton, Lilia Ramsey, Michelle, Idalia and Ana-Marie Magras; nephews: Abasie, Ajarie, N’Qwari, Kijante’, Shadiqu and Z’Kija Williams, Tevon Petersen, Vernon Prentice, Louis, Flavel, Mario, Magras, Shamall Sr., Shaeme, Shaquawn and Shakeed Ramos, and George “Tuck” Osborne; as well as other relatives and friends too numerous to mention.

Persons wishing to bid their farewell may join the family from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 30, at James Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. The family requests that those in attendance wear festive colors.

A Memorial Service will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, May 31, at Way of The Cross Baptist Church (Work and Rest).
