2017 Territorial Spelling Bee

The V.I. Department of Education invites the community to the 44th Annual Territorial Spelling Bee. The territory’s top 12 spellers will compete for the championship title and the opportunity to represent the U.S. Virgin Islands at the 90th Scripps National Spelling Bee, May 28 through June 6, in Washington, D.C.

Crime Prevention Community Meeting

CENTENNIAL TRANSFER DAY Transfer Day is a holiday celebrated in the U.S. Virgin Islands on March 31. It marks the transfer of the islands from Denmark to the United States of America that took place in 1917.

Special Naturalization Ceremony

Fort Christiansted National Historic Site 2100 Church Street, Christiansted, St. Croix

U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) will hold a special naturalization ceremony to celebrate Transfer Day. Attendees will witness 100 new citizens take the Oath of Allegiance to the United States. USCIS encourages new citizens and guests to share their naturalization ceremony experiences and photos through social media, using the hashtag #newUScitizen.
