Texas Society to Host 34th Chili Cook-Off

The Texas Society of the Virgin Islands will host its 34th Chili Cook-Off Community Fundraiser. Featuring the musical stylings of local DJ Cypha and capped off by an appearance by the Jake Bradley Band, this year’s event is special for many reasons to both the organizers and the beneficiaries. Over 50 teams are expected to turn out their favorite rendition of Texas style chili, both in beef and vegetarian form. Cold Coors Light and Captain Morgan Rum cocktails will be available for purchase throughout the event, culminating in a Grand Champion in both chili categories as well as those in Best Show. The bars will open at 10 a.m.; opening ceremonies will take place at noon; the awards will be given out at 4:30 p.m.; the event will close down at 6 p.m.
