CANCELED: The meeting at 9 a.m. has been postponed. The committee was to receive testimony from the V.I. Carnival Committee to include a reflective synopsis of recent Carnival activities and a financial overview from the years 2010 to date for review and discussion.

The committee will receive testimony from the Department of Licensing and Consumer Affairs to include a status update on the department’s progress in holding non-compliant merchants accountable (e.g. determining and collecting administrative fines) as well as strategies for addressing merchant delinquency, encouraging merchant compliance and improving the DLCA’s overall effectiveness. Furthermore, the committee will inquire on the status of board membership needed for professional and trade licensing.
