Hurricane Recovery Community Meeting

Gov. Kenneth E. Mapp’s Hurricane Recovery and Resilience Task Force will be hosting several community meetings to inform and engage the public on its efforts. Space is still available for those interested in participating in the first of the meetings, the Housing Information Session. This session will offer an overview of the VIHFA Emergency Home Repairs Program, which provides free temporary repairs to eligible owner-occupied homes that were damaged during the hurricanes. The information session will also provide a progress report of the Task Force Housing Sector, which includes plans to rebuild homes to current building code standards and reconstruct vacant units to help accommodate increased demand for affordable housing.
