A St. Thomas man drove himself to the hospital early Saturday after he was shot while traveling on Veterans Drive, the V.I. Police Department reported.
According to police, the man said he was driving his black Acura sedan west on Veterans Drive after leaving Frenchtown just after 3:30 a.m. when a car drove alongside his vehicle and began firing multiple shots at him. At the same time, 911โs ShotSpotter detection system reported multiple shots fired in the area, police said.
The gunshot victim, 24, drove to the Schneider Regional Medical Center Emergency Room for help with his injuries, having been shot at least once, police said. They did not respond to questions about his condition.
The case remains under investigation by the Major Crimes Unit.
