Planned St. John Power Outage Postponed

The Virgin Islands Water and Power Authority would like to inform the public that the previously scheduled island-wide electrical outage for St. John, originally set for Sunday, Feb. 2, has been postponed to a later date.

This outage was initially planned to allow WAPA to conduct testing and perform preventative maintenance on the submarine cable connecting St. Thomas and St. John. While this work remains essential to improving system reliability, WAPA has determined that postponing the outage will allow time to restructure and further fine-tune the approach for testing.

A new date for the scheduled maintenance will be announced soon. WAPA appreciates the communityโ€™s patience and understanding as we work to ensure consistent and reliable electrical service.

Keeping our community informed is our top priority.
