Commissioner Jean-Pierre L. Oriol of the Department of Planning and Natural Resources announces that the Florence Williams Public Library in Christiansted, St. Croix, is temporarily closed due to unforeseen circumstances and will remain closed until further notice.
The temporary closure is necessary to address issues affecting the library’s operations and to ensure the safety and well-being of patrons and staff. DPNR and the Division of Libraries, Archives, and Museums are actively working to resolve the matter as quickly as possible.
“We understand the important role the Florence Williams Public Library plays in serving the community and regret any inconvenience this temporary closure may cause,” Commissioner Oriol said. “Our priority is to ensure that the facility is able to safely and effectively serve the public before reopening.”
DPNR will provide updates regarding the library’s status and reopening date as additional information becomes available. Community members are encouraged to monitor DPNR communication channels for the latest updates.
