Inspiring Turnout at King Street Clean-Up on St. Croix

The King Street Clean-Up held on Saturday was a huge success with an outstanding turnout, with members of the community, local business owners, and high school students coming together to restore and beautify Frederiksted’s historic King Street, Our Town Frederiksted, Inc.(OTF) announced.

Volunteers worked block by block to remove litter, sweep sidewalks, and bring new life to one of Frederiksted’s key streets. The event was a great demonstration of community camaraderie, environmental stewardship, and the shared love for Frederiksted, according to the press release.

“The turnout was more than we could have hoped for,” said AimĂ©e Griles-Cariño, executive director of Our Town Frederiksted, Inc. “We are especially grateful for the participation of our local high school students, whose energy and commitment to their community were truly inspiring.”

OTF would like to thank everyone who took part in this initiative, including the Virgin Islands Police Department, Virgin Islands Fire Services, and Virgin Islands Waste Management Authority. The collaboration is crucial to the continuous efforts to rejuvenate Frederiksted and guarantee that it continues to be a stunning and lively town for residents, businesses, and visitors, the press release stated.

Stay tuned for more of our upcoming initiatives. As part of the mission to restore and revitalize Frederiksted, OTF will roll out more community-focused projects in the coming months. The community is invited to continue being a part of the change, it said.
