Fourteen teams are set to invade the Mark C Marin Center this weekend for the first Interscholastic Athletic Association Volleyball Tournament of the 2024-2025 season.
Antilles Junior Varsity/Junior Varsity B Volleyball Tournament will start with two matches on Friday at 4:30 p.m. at Antilles School. Teams will compete in three divisions. The Junior Varsity Girls has four teams entered: Good Hope Country Day (GHCD) from St. Croix, Charlotte Amalie High School (CAHS), Virgin Islands Montessori School and Peter Gruber International Academy (VIMSPGIA), and the host Antilles School.
The Junior Varsity B (JVB) Division features middle school teams. St. Croix’s John Woodson Middle School is one of eight teams entered in the JVB Girl’s Division. Antilles School has entered three teams in this division, joining VIMSPGIA and Sts. Peter & Paul School from St. Thomas. Gifft Hill School and Julius Sprauve School (JESS) based on St. John will also compete in the JVB Girls Division.
Antilles School is excited to include a boy’s division in this year’s event. JESS and Antilles School will play three matches in the JVB Boys Division.
This event is a true pre-season tournament for the St. Thomas-St. John teams, as they have not played regular-season matches thus far this season. The St. Croix teams are two weeks into their season.
