Sherice Williams Ayitsey Dies at 52

We will forever remember Sherice Williams Ayitsey, who transitioned on Aug. 26, at the age of 52, in Columbus, Ohio. She passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family in her final moments.

She was known for cherishing the time spent with loved ones. Sherice, a tenacious, strong and kind person, left an unforgettable mark on our hearts.

She was born to Janet Nelson and Lionel Williams Sr. (deceased) on St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands, on June 13, 1972.

She was preceded in death by her grandmothers: Sitnah Yarwood and Helen Petersen Hall; uncle, Warren David; and brother, Larry Williams.

She is survived by her son,ย Edosaย Omoruyi; stepfather, Winston Nelson; sisters: Jennifer Greenaway, Terese Williams, Linda Williams, Tiffany Williams and Walidah Watkins; brothers: Lionel Williams Jr., Tโ€™Shawn Williams, Joseph Williams, Trevor Willliams and Troy Williams; aunts: Cleone Cornelius, Sylvia Cornelius, Yvonne Francis, Laverne Fredericksen, Marjorie Fredericksen Ramos, Clarice Raspberry, Rita Hall Greenidge, Anna Hall, Denise Albert and Doris Daily Sutton; uncles: Lyle Yarwood, Elroy Yarwood, Joseph Yarwood, Daryl David, Raymond Cornelius, Alvin Fredericksen, Roy Clark, Melbourne Clark, Daniel Dailey Jr. and Joseph Clark.

She is also survived by nephews: Jelani Greenaway, Omari Poree, Ajani Poree, Dโ€™andre Williams, Eustance Casanova, Calvin Santiago Jr. and Chris Santiago; nieces: Sade Haynes, Zaire Poree, Nijeria Williams, Kimberly Williams and Ayana Isaac; and many cousins too numerous to mention.

She was also graced with special friends; Tracy Lindo-Lott, Karen Hughes, Sharon Durrant, Shelly Bondu and Nardia Ataman; special brother-in-law, Shawn Greenaway; and many other family and friends too numerous to mention.

Family and friends are invited to Apostolic Faith Mission, 487 Barren Spot, St. Croix, V.I., on Sept. 20, to reminisce and honor the life of Sherice Williams Ayitsey. There will be a viewing at 10 am followed by a service at 11 a.m. ย Interment will be held at Kingshill Cemetery.
