National Park Announces Temporary Partial Closure of John Head Road

A portion of the John Head Road on St. John will be closed to the public for approximately five days beginning Aug. 26, the Virgin Islands National Park announced. The section of road immediately in front of the driveway of the Hakuna Ma Tata residence will be demolished and rebuilt, half of the roadway/driveway at a time.

This project will involve the use of heavy equipment and will require concrete curing, thus necessitating the closure of half of the roadway to vehicular and foot traffic, the park said.  The project will begin on Aug. 26 and end on Aug. 30, weather permitting.
