It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, and Great Great Grandmother, Gwennie T. Casey, a/k/a Mammie, a/k/a Mama, a/k/a Ms. Casey; a/k/a Sister Casey. She passed on Thursday, June 20, at the age of 85, at her family home in Estate Sion Hill, Christiansted, St. Croix.
Gwennie T. Casey was born on June 5, 1939, and raised on the beautiful mountainous Caribbean Island nation of Dominica, BWI, which is well known for its natural hot springs and tropical rainforests.
She was preceded in death by her Parents: O’Brian Toussaint and Elizabeth Ionie Magloire; Husband: Reverend Joseph A.R. Casey, Pastor; Sisters: Flossie Toussaint, Mona Toussaint, Virginia T. Liburd, Monica Toussaint, Norrell Laurel Toussaint, and Joyce Toussaint; Brothers: Leo Toussaint, Brient Toussaint, and Bryan Toussaint; Grandson: Reynold Hicks, Jr.; and Daughter: Nelly R. Casey Hicks.
She is survived by her Sons: Watmora A. Casey a/k/a Watty (Wife: Rachel Casey), and Hoodini A. Casey a/k/a Hoody (Wife: Ivette Casey); Bonus Children: Ignatius Casey a/k/a Iggy; Aline Marie Joseph a/k/a Ingrid; & Noreen Gob; Daughters: Judy Casey Mullins a/k/a Vanya (Husband: Harold Mullins, Jr.); and Jeannette J. Casey Murray a/k/a Zisca (Husband: Robert M. Murray); Grandchildren: James Casey, Sloan Casey, Anthony Paul Casey, Joshua Casey, Leah Casey, Naomi Casey, Ann Marie Hicks-Mays, Rayanna Hicks, Ioneeyau Casey, Naomee Casey, and Niomee Casey; Great Grandchildren: Aylena Casey, Malia Casey, Eazhah McKinney, Casey Mays, Chris Mays, Jr., Caden Mays, Caron Mays, and AriaMarie Christina Mays; Great Great Grandchildren: Jayce Cortez Bradford NIECES: Patricia Toussaint, Brigitte Hatcher, Sandra Liburd-Reynolds, Patricia Pemberton- Lightbourne, and Jacqueline Liburd; Nephews: Theodore M. Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, July 13, at the Faith of Christ Ministries located at No. 42 Upper Love, Fredriksted, St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands. Viewing at 9:00 a.m. with service beginning at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Kingshill Cemetery.
