Crime Stoppers V.I. Needs Your Help

The Virgin Islands Police Department is still searching for suspects in the shooting of three victims.

Crime Stoppers V.I. offers cash rewards for information leading to the arrest of individuals responsible for past homicides on St. Thomas, St. Croix, or St. John, involvement in government corruption, manufacturing and/or distributing drugs and trafficking guns.

June 14, 2021

At around 3:32 a.m., the 911 Emergency Call Center received a report of a man requesting police assistance on Hospital Street in downtown Christiansted.

Officers traveled to the area and located the man, who indicated that he was at Altona Lagoon when he was hit by gunshots. Officers subsequently traveled to Altona Lagoon, where they discovered a bullet-riddled body in the vicinity of the Altona Lagoon Recreational Center.

The victim was later identified as 38-year-old Nicholas A. Miller. The man who requested help suffered a gunshot wound to his right hip and was transported to Luis Hospital, where he was treated and released.

July 9, 2020

At approximately 12:58 pm, the 911 Call Center received a call from a concerned citizen of shots fired in the area of Tutu High Rise, St. Thomas.

Units from the Mariel C. Newton Command and units from the Criminal Investigation Bureau traveled to Tutu High Rise where contact was made with two men who appeared to have sustained gunshot wounds.

One man was unresponsive, and Emergency Medical Technicians, who were on scene concluded that he did not have any vital signs. The other man was transported to Schneider Regional Medical Center via Ambulance, where he later succumbed to his injuries. Next of kin identified the victims as 29-year-old Rique Ashby and 14-year-old Aaron Ashby.
