Marilyn Adina Christopher Dies at 87

Marilyn Adina Christopher

Marilyn Adina Christopher, a native of Harrigan Estate, Tortola, and a resident of Paul M. Pearson Garden, St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands, died on May 28 in Atlanta, Ga. She was 87 years old.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Ina Abednego Christopher and Thaddeus Christopher; daughter, Yvonne M. Dunlop; adopted grandson, Ariel Thomas; sisters: Beula Hill, Dora Christopher and Cicily Brathwaite; brothers: Norris “Hosie” Christopher, Justin and Charles “Perry” Brathwaite, nieces: Joyce Williams and Julene Thomas; nephews: Keeno “Perry” Brathwaite and Leonard “Shup” Christopher.

She is survived by her sisters: Earla Thomas and Erminie Brathwaite-Lanclos; brothers: Ariel, Donald and Vernal Brathwaite; adopted daughters: SFC (Ret.) Janet Martin and Evangelist, Ritzia Turnbull-Smith; sister-in-law, Melinda Brathwaite; and special nephews: CSM (Ret.) Dale Christopher and Liston Hodgep.

She is also survived by nephews: Percy, Wade, Patrick and Aaron Hill. Elroy Thomas. Vincent, Winston, Willford, Vindell, Victor Christopher and Karim Henry. Justin Brathwaite Jr. Khareed Brathwaite.  Shayne Brathwaite and Elroy Lanclos Jr. Rashaun, Ariel Jr. and Omari Brathwaite, Kojo, Vernal, Shawn, Greg and Jacoy Brathwaite, Donald, Damahl, Daquan and Dyreek Brathwaite.

Other survivors include nieces:   Ivena Hill, Beverly Leslie, Berecia, Kim and Kay Christopher, Shanturah Brathwaite-Smith, Makiba Brathwaite-Zimmerman, Lathora, Jessica and Ina Brathwaite. Germarie Turnbull and Charlene “Crysia” Martin, Keinah Brathwaite. Kerry Ann George-Charles and Evelina Lanclos. Lurlyn, Berenice, Tiffany, Eboni, Eboni, Evangelist. Unique and Zazel Brathwaite. Desha and Latoya Brathwaite, Sheverne, Kharisha, Shenelle, K’Lani, Shana and Machelle Brathwaite; special friends: Ruth Leonard and Vancie Evans; as well as many other relatives and friends too numerous to mention.

The viewing will be held from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m., and the funeral service will begin at 10 a.m. on Friday, June 28, at Christ Church Methodist, Market Square, St. Thomas.  Interment will be at Western Cemetery No. 2.

Funeral arrangements are by Turnbull’s Funeral Home and Crematory Services.
