INVITATION FOR BIDS
Pelican Cove Condominium Association Water Distribution System Replacement

Pelican Cove Condominium Association (PCCA) is soliciting sealed bids for its capital improvement project No. SM15-005A/SM16-006A/SM21-003 replacement of water distribution system from qualified and highly skilled V.I. licensed general contractors.  This Project entails the replacement of the water distribution system of four (4) public water systems within the units of four residence buildings owned and operated by PCCA on the island of St. Croix as follows:

    • Remove the existing polybutylene pipe that is accessible through demolition areas.
    • Install new CPVC and PEX hot/cold supply lines as specified from the PVC cold water supply within the unit to all fixtures. All supply lines are to be run within walls and ceiling spaces between the gypsum board and the concrete slab above.
    • Replace all shutoff valves at fixtures (lavatories, water closets, water heater, sink\dishwasher, refrigerator, clothes washer, bidet) with new lead-free valves.
    • Replace any/all original/older non-code-compliant shower valves with code-compliant lead-free valves. Any shower valves replaced during previous remodeling that are code-compliant do not require replacement.
    • Install a lead-free main shutoff valve behind the access panel in each unit if not already installed.

Additional work collateral to the plumbing activities includes:

    • Move personal items and appliances in affected areas, set up dust protection and professional cleaning
    • Remove gypsum\cement board and ceramic/stone tile from walls\ceilings to expose pipe runs and shower/tub valves.
    • Replace removed cement board and wall tile with a comparable tile, waterproofing shower surrounds prior to tiling.
    • Remove and reinstall appliances/cabinets/counters as needed.
    • Replace, finish, and paint all opened wall and ceiling surfaces
    • Remove and dispose of all waste material in accordance with Virgin Islands Waste Management Authority solid waste disposal regulations.
    • Housekeeping, final cleaning.
