The dinghy dock on the south side of the Loredon L. Boynes Sr. Dock in Cruz Bay, St. John, will be temporarily closed, effective immediately.  The Virgin Islands Port Authority has closed the dock as a safety precaution during the ongoing renovation construction at the Boynes Dock.  Boaters are encouraged to use the north side dinghy dock until construction is completed.

The renovation of the Boynes Dock is anticipated to be completed by the end of June 2024. The project entails resurfacing the entire pier, installing a canopy adjacent to the existing terminal to protect from inclement weather, and adding male and female restrooms and an electrical room for an emergency power generator.

The Boynes Dock is the primary port of entry on St. John and facilitates the daily movement of thousands of residents and visitors traveling between the Red Hook port on St. Thomas and Cruz Bay.
