DJante Syheem DeJorne Carrington died on Wednesday, July 5.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents: Daisy and Anselmo “Galento” Carrington; aunt, Ellenmay Joyce; uncles: Juno Roberts and Dean Codrington; and brother-in-law, Ian Benjamin.

He is survived by his mother, Paulette Mason; father, Bernard “Dale” Carrington; second father, Renholdt “Rookie” Jackson; godmother, Ernestine Williams; godfathers: Walton Williams and Winston Nurse; grandparents: Faith Phillip, Parry Mason and Errol Lindsey; great-grandmother, Carmen Malloy; sisters: LaDania Carrington-Benjamin, Leanna Carrington, LaDia Santiago, Dahlia Carrington, DeLani Rolle, Sheniecia Sweeney and Jamayra Serrano; and brothers: Dale Carrington, Shamaul Carrington, Erin Carrington, Naheem Carrington and Jamihl Levine Carrington;

He is also survived by his companion, Chaundice Pedro; godson, Antonio Anderson; godsisters: Khendrah Simmond and Zyannah Greaux; sisters-in-law: Bre’Yonna Carrington and Bianca Carrington; brothers-in-law: Edwin Santiago, Corneille Amos and Danzell Rolle; and aunts: Petchron Edwards, Erline Lindsey Walwyn, Estherlyn Lindsey, Perica Mason, Jacqueline Roberts, Valerie Weeks, Elda Green, Sherridan Degresse, Verna Harvey, Margaret Codrington, Carol Richards, Pearline James, Elizabeth Allen, Ophia Benjamin, Auntie Bernz, Leticia Guzman, Anges Bright, Gloria Payne Roberts and Mercelle Mason.

Other survivors include uncles: Elton Lindsey, Fitzgerald and Ludolph Roberts,  McFarren and Eugene Mason, Anselmo Codrington Jr., Uriel, Cordeil and Dave Taylor, and Wayne Edwards; nieces: Amaryse Rivera, Zuri Carrington, NaLayja Santiago and Nina Simone Rolle; nephews: LaJahni Santiago, Jahseem Santiago, Jahdiel Nieves, Kahleem Santiago, Jai Harris, Dale Carrington Jr., Shamaul Carrington Jr., Aryn Carrington, Mikayel Santiago, Nassim Rolle, Kadence Carrington and Amoyr Carrington; as well as other relatives and friends too numerous to mention.

The viewing will begin at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral service at 10 a.m., Monday, July 31, at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, Christiansted. Interment will be at Kingshill Cemetery.

The family respectfully requests that those in attendance wear gold and green.
