VIPD Makes an Arrest for Alleged Stabbing at Village

An arrest was made Thursday regarding a stabbing incident that happened during St. Thomas carnival in April, V.I. Police Department reported.

A male victim notified police at the Village during carnival, that a male acquaintance stabbed him. The suspect was identified as 56-year-old Craig Connell, according to police report.

Police made contact with the victim at the Schneider Regional Medical Center, who was treated for three puncture wounds, one to the upper chest and two to the stomach, the police report stated.

The victim stated that he and Connell had a verbal altercation that became physical, causing injuries, the report stated.

Connell was charged with assault in the third degree and disturbance of the peace. His bail was set at $25,000, police said.
