Shotspotter Detects Shots Fired on St. Croix; One Gunshot Victim

Shotspotter released numerous notifications of shots fired Friday in the area of Grove Place on St. Croix, V.I. Police Department reported.

When officers arrived, they canvassed the area and were then notified by 911 of a gunshot victim in the vicinity of 310 Grove Place, according to the police report.

Officers made contact with the victim, who said he was driving his friends home to Mutual Homes when a white SUV drove passed them, firing shots at them, which caused him to lose control of the vehicle and collide into a tree. The victim was subsequently transported to the hospital for treatment and released, the police report stated.

The scene was processed for additional victims, witnesses and suspects, police said.
