Franklin Roosevelt Thomas, also known as “Vello,” of Estate Mt. Pleasant died on Feb. 15. He was 78 years old.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Harold and Lucinia Thomas; son, Russell Floyd Thomas; brothers: James Thomas, Howard Thomas and Rudolph Thomas.
He is survived by his wife, Faustina F. Thomas (Rose); daughter, Ruchelle Thomas-Ricks; sons: Roosevelt Franklin Thomas and Robertson Thomas; grandchildren: Courtney Ricks, Diahanna Thomas, Jasna Mason, Jasmeen Mckinney and Cayden Ricks; great-grandchild, Zy’aire Jace Thomas Frazier; sisters: Lorna George, Hannah Dupigny and Joan Thomas; and nieces and nephews too numerous to mention.
He is also survived by brothers-in-law: Benson George and Antoine Dupigny; sisters-in-law: Jeanita Thomas, Ursula Thomas, Mary “Gracie” Thomas, Ramona Valton, Donna Roberts and Rona Jhero; special friends: Rodney, Rup, Henry, Claudius, Evannie Jeremiah, B. C. and Cynthia; and other relatives and friends too numerous to mention.
The viewing will be held at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral service at 10 a.m., Friday, March 3, at Bethel Methodist Church. Interment will be at Kingshill Cemetery.
